Incredible $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore available until Dec. 2. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by ProFantasy Software over the years, the entire collection is valued at more than thirteen hundred dollars. Primary Feature

The big draw is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Basic Package

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, over twenty-five top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection for at least $15 offers enhanced value by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's long-running monthly subscription service featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you present urban areas in 3D perspective with isometric views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

All 17 volumes of Cartographer's Annual are included here, plus numerous additional tools and content that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. You can even design character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. But it's obviously more advantageous for map-making newbies since it includes the beginners' tutorials to help you get started. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available on any platform, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. In this instance, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief.
